GOT BAGPIPES? I Do!!! - Welcome To Highlandpiping
Michigan Bapipers -The Great Highland Bagpipes (GHB) is one of the most sought after instrument for both festive and solemn occasions. The music of the GHB leaves a long lasting impression.

The Cawthon pipers and dancers have been performing the art of Highland Piping and Dancing both locally and internationally for many years.

Not only do the Cawthons perform, but their experience and expertise is sought after as consultants for "how best" the GHB can be used to perform at Military Events, Weddings, Memorial Services, Business Functions, Parades, etc. They also provide "tips", within the event, that are not related to the GHB or Highland Dancing.

Due of the numerous ways the GHB or Highland Dancers can be used, we do not give quotes via e-mail. We will happy to provide an immediate quote after a brief discussion of the event details over the phone.

History - The Five Pipers (brothers - Marty, Scott, Tyge, Clifford, Dean) and One Highland Dancer (sister - Laura) were introduced to the world of highland piping and dancing by Scottish immigrants and family friends Donald and Jock MacLellan.

They all began taking bagpipe or dancing lessons from several local instructors at the ripe old age of 8 and attended numerous Scottish performing arts schools where they had received personal tutoring from Scotland's leading pipers of the Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming. Capt. John A. MacLellan MBE, PM John MacKenzie, Ian, John MacFadyen, Seamus MacNeil, PM Archie Cairns (RCAF). The brothers also had the honor of meeting Alex Duthart and JL MacKenzie at these events.

Preforming at the Highland Competitions where some of the most memorable achievements. The brothers placed 1st in many of the USA and Canada competitions. The first and second oldest brothers (Marty and Scott) took 1st and 3rd place respectively in the North American solo bagpipe competition held at Maxville Canada.

The brothers had the honor of performing Amazing Grace with singer Andy Williams on his world tour. Since then, the brothers have composed music, created CDs - Caber-Records, made songs available on iTunes (Search for Cawthon) and have had the honor of performing for thousands of people including President Ford, Four Star Generals, various Sentors, other dignitaries and guests at Disney World.

Honesty and Square Dealing
Honesty and square dealing will always pay a handsome profit. The rule will not succeed every time, but the day of reward will surely come. The man who does business upon foundation of honesty and square dealing, in the long run enjoys the best and most profitable prosperity. Honesty is the best interest bearing investment that man can make.
